This according to the latest advertising spend figures for the full year 2017 which are analyzed by The Advertising Association and Warc.<\/p>\n<p>It paints a fantastic picture for marketing and advertising, showing increases which have continued for many years and shows that despite any political situation, slumps or increases in consumer demand, advertising is still producing returns, as marketers are still spending and still depend heavily on their advertising campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>Internet advertising saw positive increases but it was mobile advertising that produced the biggest by far - a massive increase in mobile ad spending of over 37%.<\/p>\n<p>Regional newspapers saw decreases, as did magazines and a small decrease for TV. This could explain why recently UK TV network <a href=\"https:\/\/www.campaignlive.co.uk\/article\/itv-drops-late-penalty-charges-ad-bookings-woo-advertisers\/1460395\">ITV dropped their late penalty charges<\/a>, to attract more last-minute advertisers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/adspend-advertising-spend-forecast-2017-2018-2019-smart-insights.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-114668 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/adspend-advertising-spend-forecast-2017-2018-2019-smart-insights-550x343.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"343\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/adspend-advertising-spend-forecast-2017-2018-2019-smart-insights-550x343.png 550w, https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/adspend-advertising-spend-forecast-2017-2018-2019-smart-insights-150x94.png 150w, https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/adspend-advertising-spend-forecast-2017-2018-2019-smart-insights-250x156.png 250w, https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/adspend-advertising-spend-forecast-2017-2018-2019-smart-insights.png 667w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cinema has done nicely with a modest increase in radio ad spending too, as well as an increase in out of home advertising spend.
