I've completed a quick review, so this alert gives some background on the tool and you can decide whether it's relevant for you.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 17px; line-height: 25px;\">Our review of Social Crawlytics<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Value<\/strong>: [rating=4]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recommended link<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/socialcrawlytics.com\/\">Social Crawlytics<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a free, simple tool that is aimed at showing you how popular your content based on how much it is shared across the main social networks as Likes, Tweets and +1s. It\u2019s produced by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elevatelocal.co.uk\/\">Brighton-based SEO Yousaf of Elevate Local<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ysekand\">@yesekand<\/a>)\u00a0and I think is a great effort given it doesn't have the backing many services have.<\/p>\n<p>Although it\u2019s free, it\u2019s based on credits and I found myself out of credits after one report with no way to top them up without tweeting or waiting for next week - I guess that\u2019s coming soon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Byword.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-15395\" title=\"Byword\" src=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Byword-600x633.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"633\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Byword-600x633.png 600w, https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Byword-141x150.png 141w, https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Byword-550x581.png 550w, https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Byword-250x264.png 250w, https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Byword.png 953w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Unlike other tools which focus on a single social network like Twitter or Facebook, this one is great since it shows your total shares for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facebook<\/li>\n<li>Twitter<\/li>\n<li>Delicious<\/li>\n<li>LinkedIn<\/li>\n<li>GooglePlus<\/li>\n<li>Pinterest<\/li>\n<li>Stumbleupon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So everything that matters really. Here\u2019s an example:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Google-Chrome-28.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Google Chrome 28\" src=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Google-Chrome-28-600x346.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It also gives a report on how individual pages have been shared across the networks:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/LittleSnapper-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"LittleSnapper 3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/LittleSnapper-3-600x217.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"217\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The tool works by crawling your pages like a search spider and then calls the APIs the networks have to gain information on the number of shares. Bear in mind that the networks sometimes discard shares after a period (I believe Twitter does this after 6 or 9 months or so), so it is not all time shares, simply the most recent active shares.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"applicationsofsocialcrawlytics\">Applications of Social Crawlytics<\/h3>\n<p>For reviewing shares from your own site this tool doesn\u2019t add so much since we now have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/google-analytics\/google-analytics-setup\/google-social-analytics-review\/\">Google\u2019s Social Analytics<\/a>. This shows the most popular networks for sharing and pages which are shared. However, for me the visualisation is much better than Google+. For example, it allows us to see how Twitter is more important and that Pinterest and Stumblepon shouldn\u2019t be ignored.<\/p>\n<p>What Google\u2019s social analytics won\u2019t do is to tell you sharing on your competitor sites, so this is the main benefit of Social Crawlytics - you can compare the level of sharing and review the most popular content types for your competitors as a way to learn about their content marketing.<\/p>\n<p>Have you used this tool?
