This can be through a Gated Like page (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/social-media-marketing\/facebook-marketing\/an-example-of-how-facebook-can-grow-online-retail-sales\/\">example<\/a>); competitions encouraging Email or loyalty club opt-in (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/social-media-marketing\/facebook-marketing\/the-new-facebook-business-timeline-pages-whats-missing-and-whats-new\/\">example<\/a>) or games to name but three.<\/p>\n<p>New data from <a href=\"http:\/\/pagelever.com\/facebook-timeline-custom-tabs-marketers\/\">Facebook analytics company Pagelever<\/a>\u00a0has shown the impact of the time line since it was introduced on 30th March this year. It also gives a useful benchmark for the level of engagement you should be getting:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Facebook-brand-engagement.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15414\" title=\"Facebook-brand-engagement\" src=\"http:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Facebook-brand-engagement.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"580\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Facebook-brand-engagement.png 580w, https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Facebook-brand-engagement-150x85.png 150w, https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Facebook-brand-engagement-550x311.png 550w, https:\/\/www.smartinsights.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Facebook-brand-engagement-250x141.png 250w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 580px) 100vw, 580px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The analysis is based on data across 500+ pages that had over 10,000+ fans.<\/p>\n<p>The key insights from this report are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Average tab views per visit are relatively low (now 0.06\/6%). <\/em>This gives a benchmark to compare with and a conversion rate within Facebook marketing to work on improving. It also suggests how the design of Facebook limits marketers in engaging their audience in content marketing outside of the Wall.
